Genette Beardsley, JuelleAnn Boyer, Bobbi Finch, and Kimberlee Garfinkle of Isle City of Alameda Business and Professional Women (BPW) joined other local organization delegates in Livermore on April 28-30, 2006, for Bay Capital District Conference. At Saturday's luncheon, Isle City received awards for Women in History programming, Membership (2nd in District, 2nd in State), Foundation (3rd place, District), and Press Book. JoAnn S. Ainsworth attended the installation banquet to conduct the Candle Lighting Ceremony, a tradition uniting women worldwide and established shortly after the founding of BPW International in the 1930's. Genette Beardsley assisted. Dorie Guess Behrstock was installed as Isle City 's President 2006-2007. The keynote speaker Saturday discussed women managers accused of sexual harassment. JuelleAnn Boyer, a former member of the International Federation Finance Committee, reported on BPW International Congress in Switzerland . Bobbi Finch and Genette Beardsley were in charge of registration for the conference. "I am extremely proud of the work and dedication of our members throughout the year," said Isle City BPW's Immediate Past President Kimberlee Garfinkle, "and to be the one to accept an award on behalf of these members, in every category offered at the conference, was truly an honor."
